Woke up early coz today is my Biometric(Fingerprints schedule at USCIS Alexandria) and Lynn my friend will pick me up here at the house coz hubby can't drive me going to Alexandria coz he and his friend is going to check some fruit tree at the mountain from where his friend owns it. Lynn pick me up at 10:30 and heading straight to Alexandria, we arrive there at exactly 1:00pm then its food that the 2 of us was thinking so we check for a resto or fastfood. We decided to eat at Roy Rogers, they got a great chicken and it's my first time goin in to the fastfood. I ordered 3 chicken strips with french fries as my side dish then Lynn got bacon and hamburger with mash potato coz she ordered the wrong number supposed to be she's goin to get 2 piece of chicken but anyway after we eat lunch we went straight to the building for my fingerprints. We get in inside at 2:30 and got out at 2:45, whew we travel for almost 2 hours and just got done everything for only 15 mins wow what a trip. Then when we were heading down the road we decided to stop for an asian market in Centreville but i told Lynn that i know 1 of a Filipino Store who got filipino foods that they sell so while were heading down the road i forgot the address but i know what's the name of the City, oh my we have to find a way how can we get there. Lynn called our Pinay friend but she's taking a nap and i was busy scanning on her Magellan GPS but it can't locate coz i forgot that the name of the store is JULIANA's Sari Sari and i punch in Juliana Store but anyway we arrive there and we're looking what stuffs we gonna get. Oh, my we didn't think that we can buy lots of stuffs and pay lots of money. We arrive here at home for about 8:00 in the evening. What a day

Farewell Party for the Twins

Today was a little bit busy coz when i get up i jump up directly to the shower room so that i can harvest my farm, lol it's just only a computer game. When i get dress and eating breakfast was playing while waiting for the time to fetch up T Cris coz not going to bring her car so she's gonna ride with us. But anyway when we arrive there at Genevive house almost everybody was there already. We started with a prayer we start the chow chow, lots of filipino dishes was there. Everybody was having fun after lunch coz we sing and dance together.... Before we head out to the road going home me and hubby went to my cousins house to bring her bible back and get the lemon tree that she promise to give me... Weeee, what a day... Ops, before i sign off one of our friends called me and we're going to a birthday party tomorrow... Oh, my another chow chow time... LOL

The Twins are moving up to Brooklyn NewYork... We're goin to missed y'all guys, visit us sometimes here...

It's new year's day... Wasn't so excited coz i gotta go to work and my hubby has a work too... So when i get off to work i let Lucy out to do her business and get back in to the house to watch tv for a little bit then hit to bed... What a boring day not same as there in the Philippines that it's so much fun and got lots of fireworks celebrating it together with our family and friends... Oh, i missed home thinking about it... Geeeeee, wish i'll be there with them next year...

Whew, so very lucky this year in all my jobs coz been selected once again as Employee of the Month and Best Cashier at Walmart... Was so very surprised coz when i was on red lining and i just heard that our Manager, Assistant Manager and CSM's at Walmart called my name and when i look at them i felt i'm gonna cry coz i see that they are bringing balloons and certificate... Was so very embrassing moment also coz they've announce to whole walmart that i'm receiving certificate and i'm the Best Employee of the Month and Best Cashier... THanks to all my fellow associates and to my Walmart family from the buttom of my heart...

Today keep on calling the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines at Washington Dc coz it's been 2 months haven't receive my passport coz it says on the instructions of the Form that i got from them it just say that it's going to take 4 to 6 weeks processing... When i arrive at the house cook immediately coz hubby is coming and when he arrive it thought that he's already hungry so i prepared everything and when he said he won't eat first coz we have to go to New Market to get all the potatoes that he's friend going to bring it from West Virginia. It's the potatoes that we planted in West Virginia, so we went there and after loading it all to the truck my golly thought where all done. So after he eats went to Autoshop to buy battery for my car coz it's not working well. It's already past 12am we haven't finish installing the battery and we're going to unload the potatoes to the building. Was so very tired coz have to woke up early for my work and also hubby.

Woke up early to prepare everything so that i won't be late at work. Let my puppy go outside to do her stuff coz have to leave her at her little house that we bought for 8 hours. Got very upset with our computer coz we just got this back from repair and when i'm going to use it again still having problem with it. The mouse and the keyboard won't function, it's same problem that's why we send it to repair. Talk to the technical support technician, and do everything just to fix the problem but still no luck. Hope that they're going to change this computer to a brand new one.

I woke up early and that i can call State Farm Insurance Co. to report the accident yesterday... And they gave me the reference number of the agent... Was releave when i heard that all the costs of repair with Mr. Kurt's car they'll be the one to pay for it... If not huhuhu i gonna pay for the repair and don't know how much does it cost... It's with the bumper at the back of passenger sit where the gas tank was dented and has a little scratched of it...

When i back up my truck coz need to go home and change pants but i do hit our Assistant Managers car. I saw his car when i back up but i heard bump i said oh, oh i hit his car... I told one of my co-worker that i need you to call Mr. Kurt coz i did hit his car... Hehehe, he said to me of all the car was here at the parking lot you hit my car... Are you mad at me??? But he laugh when he said that... I said ah, ah it's just an accident and i didn't meant it... It's good that Mr. Kurt is so very kind... And it took 30 minutes before i talked to a technician and he's from india... What we do was doing the system recovery and re-install everything but still when we're goin to surf the net still it crashes...

My first customer raises voices at me, huhuhu it's not my fault it's his fault and he's the one who raise voices with me... Coz his payment is $25.49 and he wants to pay it separately, $13.00 for credit card and the rest is for his debit card... And now when he swipe his credit card it went through and i ask him to swipe his debit card then he swipe his credit card again and when i tell him that it's the same card that you swipe first sir... When i arrive came from work my hubby was already waiting for me on the truck coz where goin to West Virginia to check for our Potato patch... I already bought lots of hotdogs, burgers, burger and hotdog buns so that we can have a mini get together with his family friend who watch for our 3 acres potato patch... While fixing our dinner my hubby and his friend dig potatoes they where happy to see that it's some kind of a big potato and they said that where goin to harvest it last month of August or first week of September... When they show it to us i can't imagine how huge is it... Wish i bring my camera along and take picture with to show how huge is our potato... Waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh, there's something wrong with our pc was damage by lightning... When me and hubby get home from work he wanted to use the Computer but it won't turn on the power supply and motherboard was affected... Just bought this PC last February... HUHUHU... I called HP Company and complain about it and it's good that it's still on warranty but they told me that i have to wait for a month before they gonna send it back... We mailed our PC at Texas and i'm here at Public Library using the net...

Today was my day off, me and my hubby was getting ready coz last night we've been planning to visit the Old Folks at the nursing home. When we arrive there i immediately went to one of my fave and closiest friend who's been staying at the nursing home for almost 8 years, when she saw me she cried and hug me tight and been telling me that she misses me alot and it's good that i haven't been forgot to visit them there. My hubby can't imagine how close we are even i just been working there for 6 months, he saw us having lots of tears in our eyes it's tears of happines. Stayed there for almost an 1 hr just to talk to the residents.

Thought that we can't see the fireworks display coz at morning it's raining so hard and thought that they're going to cancel it... It's good that at 6:00 sharp the rain stops... It took for almost 40 mins for us to wait to start... It's nice to see fireworks again...

Oh, my! Oh, my! This afternoon been trying to be patient with one of my customer coz after scanning all the items that they bought and the total is $59.04 then he paid me the money, i did even count and tell him that i receive the amount of money of $70.04 that he gave and already give him the change for the amount of $11. After 10 minutes he came back and tell me that i was wrong in giving him the change coz he said that he gave me 2 (two) $50 and 4(four) cents. Then i said that no sir you just gave me 1(one) $50, 1(one) $20 and 4(four) cents and i even tell you that i received that money you gave me. He said no you was wrong he even showed his wallet and tell me that he got 4(four) $50 in his wallet. It took as 30 mins arguing about the money he paid. What i did i turn off the lights on my register even i do have lots of customer been waiting for us to be finished and call the CSM to have spotchecked (count) the money on the register. After counting all the money the CSM told him that i was right. He didn't even say sorry to me. MAN my temper was really raising up and the customer's who've been waiting was mad at him of what he did to me. What a day!!!

Oh, my gosh the Assistant Manager wants to talk to me. This is the second time that i'm goin to the Personnel Office. I thought i was in trouble but it was a good news. Yeyyy, i passed the evaluation and just waiting for me to be regular at Walmart as cashier. Ms. Cindy was explaining to me everything and they like my performance as a cashier. When i get home i told my husband about it and he was so very happy and even treat me to a dinner, supposed to be i'm the one who's goin to treat him to dinner. So glad that my hubby was very supportive also. It's really a blessings from God. Thank you Lord for this and I LOVE YOU

One late afternoon i was worried coz one of the CSM when to my Register which i was scanning some items for the customer and told me that Ms. Cindy our Assistant Manager at Walmart that she's goin to talk to me and i'm goin to turn off the light... I ask the CSM that i am in trouble and she said nope coz everytime if the manager or assistant manager wants to talk to us cashier or everybody who works at Walmart is in trouble, so after checking out my last customer to find out if i'm in trouble or not i went to the office and i ask Ms. Cindy if i was in trouble and she said you're fine honey i just want to thank you of what you've been doin to our customer and that you're doing a great job... I didn't expect that one of the customer called her about me and she's one of their regular customer... What a wonderful day for me to let my customer happy of what i was doing... Thank you so much Ms. Wasfford... I love you

Double Job

She said that i'll be there on friday for the interview and training me as a cashier will followed... Last night we have a rough night coz of the residents getting confused which room do they sleep... Two of our residents was very confused with their rooms, coz my co-worker move 1 of them to the other room which is not her room it's the room of 1 of the resident... Both of them was walking along the hallway back and forth of the 2 rooms... But anyway i told them that you have to stay in that room and in the morning going to talk to the management with it... Hehehe, i was confused also...

Was very glad that the weather is very nice... Me, my hubby and our family friend went to New Market Battlefield here in Virginia to watch for the fireworks display even though it's too far from where we stayed... I was so very happy coz that's the first time that i've watch fireworks here in the States... Since i came here and celebrated Christmas, New Year they don't have that kind of display but my hubby told me that you have to accept it coz you're not on the Philippines now... I've enjoyed alot even though it's the day also that i got my 4 wisdom teeth was pulled by the dentist, would you dare with what i did... Bwahahaha

Thanks God that i'm feeling better now but here i am again back to my normal routine, school and work... When the residents saw me this morning they where all happy that i'm already back, and i'm happy that they welcome me with a big smile... My supervisor which is my best friend and treated me as her younger sister really ask me if i'm sure that i'm feeling better coz she don't want that i will be working for the sake of my health and for the residents... Last August 2007 Baybay was officially became a city in the province of Leyte, Philippines. Covering an area of 46,050 hectares, Baybay City is composed of 92 barangays, 23 of which are in the poblacion. The remaining 69 are rural barangays. Baybay City is classified as a first class city. It is situated on the western coast of the province of Leyte. Consist Of 4 types of climate, which is generally wet. Its topography is generally mountainous in the eastern portion as it slopes down west towards the shore line. Generally an agricultural city, the common means of livelihood are farming and fishing. Some are engaged in hunting and in forestal activities. The most common crops grown are rice, corn, root crops, fruits, and vegetables. Industries operating include the Jollibee Food Chain Corporation, Specialty Products Manufacturing, Inc. and Visayan Oil Mill. Various cottage industries can also be found in the city such as bamboo and rattan craft, ceramics, dress-making, fiber craft, food preservation, mat weaving, metal craft, fine Phillipine furniture manufacturing and other related activities. Baybay has great potential as a tourist destination, especially for tennis players. It is not only rich in biodiversity and history it also houses the campus of the Visayas State University (formerly the Leyte State University/Visayas State College of Agriculture and the Jungle Valley Park. Likewise, it has river systems fit for river cruising, numerous caves for spelunking, forests, beaches, and marine treasures. This richness coupled with the friendly Baybayanos will be an element for a successful tourism program. Considering the role of tourism in development, the Baybay City intends to harness its tourism potential. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 95,630 people in 19,517 households.

POPULATION

Population Based on the 2002 NCSO report, Baybay registered a total population of 99,689 showing an increase of over that of 1990 NSCO report which was established at 82,281. The city has ninety-two (92) barangays. Among the 92 barangays, the poblacion is composed of 23 zones which retained the highest number of 17,391 in population, and 82,289 for the 69 rural barangays. Urban-Rural Population Distribution In the year 1990, the urban population of Baybay was 15,034 or 18.27% while the rural population was 67,247 of 81.73% of the total population. The 2000 NCSO population count revealed a population of 17,391 or 17.44% showing a difference of 2,357, which indicates that there is an increase in population. The rural population registered a total of 82,298 or 82.56% of the total population with an increment of 14,941 from that of the 1990 count.

CULTURE

Experience Baybay’s unique blend of culture reflected in its various traditions and its dialect. As a melting pot in the western part of Leyte, Baybay has developed an interesting mix of culture through the influence Cebuanos, Waray and the Surigaonons. And although most Baybayanos have adopted an urban lifestyle, they have retained their distinctive traits and traditions, which makes Baybay an interesting and pleasant place to visit. The Baybay Tennis Club, located on 30 Deciembre Street next to a public and private school is an outstanding place to visit, with its three coral/clay mix courts and two hard courts, 25 meter six lane Olympic style swimming pool that is five feet deep all around, a spacious verandah beside the courts with great and inexpensive food and drink. As a tennis destination, the club is unparalleled in the entire south of Leyte and could be considered any clay court tennis player's heaven.

BAYBAY PARISH CHURCH

In 1620, Baybay was founded by the Jesuits. A church and mission house were built this year. Oral lore identifies the Jesuits’ Baybay with Barrio Punta or Catarman point, not with the present site of Baybay town. On 3 December 1634, the Jesuit Juan del Campo was killed by Moros in Baybay.
On 4 November 1663, Moros under Sultan Kudarat raided Baybay.

On 27 February 1836, Baybay was raised to parish status, under the advocacy of the Immaculate Conception in accordance with the episcopal decree of 8 September 1835. As of this year the first church in Barrio Punta (Catarman Point) is reported as in need of repairs.

In 1852, the present church in the población of Baybay was built under Fray Vicente E. Coronado and continued under the supervision of Maestro Proceso from Manila. In 1866, Fire destroyed the church except for the chapel of the Holy Cross. In 1870, The church was repaired and finished by painter and sculptor Capitán Mateo Espinoso, probably a local dignitary and artisan.
